Dear readers - on the eve of PSI’s premiere, I hope that you have had a difficult time losing weight on your own.
We all do. I hope that you have gotten to your target weight, and there’s no shame in that, but it’s essential to note that none of us — myself included — ever really did.
I’ve lost around 40 pounds over the past 6 months, but I know not everyone has the same progress.
However, the return to food, the desire to eat, and even the desire to eat all sorts of junk are natural, and I will often struggle to find places to eat in a neighborhood I’m trying to lose weight.
So the answer to any question regarding my weight is “I’m not sure.”
Many people asked me how to lose weight without exercising and I couldn’t give the exact same answer. It’s not as simple as you think. Here’s how.
Find an exercise plan that you’re comfortable with. After I decided to really get to my target weight.
I knew that anything that could not be done inside my home — like, say, climbing stairs — would give me more problems.
I went to a nearby fitness center and spent a year there. But it’s a difficult thing to switch from running outside to an exercise machine — especially one so old that a kid once stood in its seat, eye from the sun up to the basement lights. So, I didn’t give it a chance.
Treat yourself to take-out restaurants for lunch and dinner. As we all know, eating out has a lot of advantages, like being able to order what you want, whenever you want, eat as many of the items as you want, from anywhere at all, and you can pay in cash.
Not the case at home, and I may seem selfish, but, for my city, any sort of self-indulgence — at all, and not knowing what I’m doing — will only end up causing more weight to gain. There’s just no excuse for this.
Set individual goals.
As much as having the same goals as others is good, I would rather have my goals be more personal, to help me feel like I’m actually doing something healthy. That’s why I became one of the founders of Personal Bridgets.com
I’m also very actively a trainer at Simple Fitness for Heart Fit and Fitness, and I feel they promote healthy ways to lose weight.
I’ve spent several months training for a marathon. Now that I’m only about 300 pounds away from my goal weight, I want to also become a Powerlifter, a Boxing Instructor, and a Sparring Cadre.
Find the right workouts.
One great exercise you can do on your own will never do you the same as a trainer.
If you’re interested in trying other ways to lose weight, it’s good to know that a trainer is always available.
Simple FITNESS, SMART and PersonalFitness are all great sports or strength groups who have coaches available to assist you.
Try different exercises. It doesn’t have to be a set. Sure, you can do yoga, but you’re actually using the body, and every body is different.
So, try different things. I absolutely loved all the exercises I did with Simple FITNESS, and I was even surprised.
Try different types of exercises. One exercise alone is not sufficient to lose a pound of fat. From studies, we know that several more exercises will have a greater effect on weight loss.
Just for this reason, you have to plan ahead and be patient, and you have to stick with it.
Try different types of nutrition.
Contrary to popular belief, it’s possible to lose weight without having a healthy diet.
For a few weeks before I started my weight loss journey, I ate carb -heavy foods, with only moderate amounts of lean meat and fish.
Not so no matter how many times I told my husband it wasn’t possible to lose weight without an eating plan.
But, there’s no excuse. By now, I’ve lost 37 pounds of fat, which is also my goal weight for April.
I’m also drinking water, limiting my consumption of wine, and eating more clean foods. For me, it all changes the balance of my blood.
Embrace the positive feedback.
The truth is that you’re doing the best you can and you need only give your best to remain healthy.
Whenever I said that I wasn’t to be a part of SMART and Personal Fitness, some people couldn’t believe me and told me I was being a coward. Well, now I’m
